[Sa:ke], a flying dutchman playing like dr. john and tom waits together on one piano. a traveling musician, just back from new zealand where he played up and down the west coast, and performed at the hokatika wild food festival.

"as a child i already knew i wanted to play the piano and sing. when i was about 12, i even jammed with champion-jack dupree at a dutch jazz festival i attended with my parents, because i started learning to play the piano when i was 7 years old i could just jam in to a boogie in "c". at 17 he got his first gigs in rotterdam, holland.

he left holland 16 years ago to play around the world. initially mostly in austria, but currently he plays a lot in mexico and guatemala, and this summer heads to europe again, where he has been invited to play at jazz and blues festivals in italy, croatia, hungary, slovinia and even serbia. for these performances he will be playing with his austrian brass\blues band "the voodoohanks" with whom he recorded his last cd "world of blue".

[Sa:ke] was first influenced by fats domino and jerry lee lewis and later, after listening to randy newman and dr. john developed a new orleans' piano style. "for some years now i have been very inspired by the intellect of tom waits' lyrics and music."
